The process of making these 100% silk scarves includes pre-washing the silk to remove any oils or residue, cutting to size, hand stitching the hem with 100% silk thread (so it can absorb the dye), decorating the silk with alternating layers of melted wax and dyes, ironing out the wax, steaming for about 2 hours to set the dyes, and giving a final wash.

Fill out my simple questionnaire to share your ideas about a design. ​After I review your information, we will talk about the project in more detail.  This conversation is a beautiful part of the process. I love to hear people's stories and listen for what matters to them.  We will work out a timeline and pricing, and you will get all your questions answered. 

Create

Here's where the magic happens. I love it, but can't fully explain it. I begin with the plan we have created together, and then let the colors and patterns sing, feeling for what creates balance and beauty. I will share photos of the process, (unless you need it to be a secret!), so you can  watch the silk being created.

After the wax is ironed out, the colors are set with steam, and a final rinse and ironing, I will pack the scarf and ship it to you!
